SSG Social Responsibility

SSG takes part in a number of Social Responsibility projects, these include working with the Endangered Willdlife Trust on the Rhino poaching project, SSG Champions Gym and an Orphanage in Edenvale, where we help those less fortuante than ourselves.

SSG Champions Gym

SSG Champions Gym was formed in 2009 when long time fighter development camps from the Alexandra Sporting Club and the USP gym from Diepsloot joined forces in an 800sq meter facility, minutes from Alexandra in Bramley. The gym was formed by former World Champion Brad Bloch and renowned trainers Mark Hey and Sean Macklen. SSG Specialised Services Group (Pty) Ltd realised the potential and immense benefits the gym holds for our city and its children and decided to take partnership in the concept.

SSG is in the process of upgrading and improving the gym and obtaining sponsorships for the fighters and trainers. Shooting Academy

SSG Group is proud to announce their first ever accredited in-house shooting academy! As part of our other divisions namely Spear Security and Tactical Armed response we insist on continuous training of all our officers who use firearms for business purposes. It has become apparent that there is a great need in South Africa for accredited and competent training facilities where individuals can undergo appropriate training for all weapon types and functions. We have recently acquired the contract to train over 2000 Metro Police Officers in their firearms training!

Anti-Rhino Poaching Dream Team

Altogether 210 rhinos have been killed for their horns since the start of the year, compared to 122 poached last year. This alarming increase in rhino poaching has caught the attention of SSG Specialised Services Group and we immediately decided to offer the services of our state of the art technology to the EWT in assisting with the investigations into these brutal poachings.

Memex is intelligence software used by Scotland Yard’s famous investigators to puzzle all bits of information together in order to form a map of how every piece of evidence is linked. This system has helped uncover major syndicates (such as the OR Tambo Blue Light syndicate and the ATM bombings) and we have no doubt that it will be of great assistance in uncovering these rhino slayers.

Compass Orphanage

COMPASS, standing for Community Provision and Social Services focus on abused/abandoned children & women and training and education. Although the centre feed & shelter these persons they also aim to nurture & integrate the victims back into the socio-economic cycle as whole, independent and self sufficient human beings thus strengthening and benefiting the society, which in turn has a direct impact on our national stability & growth. They achieve this through a two year program for our residents. SSG makes a monthly donation to the orphanage and donate other much needed items on a regular basis.
